Who here thinks eating Organic is just a trend with no real value to your health?
or that the best way to get your calcium is to drink milk?
or that gluten is just a buzz word?
or that a Subway sandwich is the best way to eat healthy on the go?
or that you have to count calories and/or carbs in order to lose weight?
or that a healthy meal consists of some variation of meat, rice, and veggies?
……. because I sure did.
However, within the past 4 months I have been introduced to a whole new world of “healthy”. A world that is practical, affordable, delicious, and nutritious. A world that doesn’t make me feel deprived of my favorite foods. A world that broke a 3 year long weight loss plateau, and led me to lose 14 lbs and 6 whole inches off of my waist. A world that has made me feel happy to get up in the morning, sexy in front of my husband, and confident in front of my peers.
I was always relatively active in my school years. I danced for 15 years, 7 of which were competitively. I was involved in school activities, and always on the go. All of this contributed to me being able to maintain a healthy weight, while eating whatever and whenever I felt like it. I grew up on chicken fried steak, roast & potatoes, and different variations of pasta. My idea of eating healthy was a salad covered in Ranch dressing, cheese, and bacon bits. LOL. My idea of “dieting” was cutting carbs completely, eating a ton of fruit, and having chicken and broccoli for dinner every night. That also included working my butt off in the gym, and staying as busy as possible so I wouldn’t realize how ridiculously hungry I was all the time.
I’m here to tell you though, there IS a better way. This blog is by no means an outlet for me to promote my business with Arbonne. However, given the circumstances, I think it would be incredibly selfish of me not to share this information with you.
On January 10, 2017 I started my 30 Days to Healthy Living and Beyond challenge with Arbonne. I was the heaviest I had ever been, and I was on my way to having to go shopping for bigger clothes, yet again. My unhealthy lifestyle began far before I graduated High School, but graduation is when my weight gain began. Now, I am not one to obsess over the number on the scale. I believe God created each of us to be unique, and that “healthy” looks different on everybody. With that being said, I also knew that I was definitely NOT at my healthy weight. I ate pizza rolls and taquitos for lunch almost every day (a ham sandwich when I was feeling healthy), and pizza and tacos for dinner every night. I’m sure y’all aren’t THAT bad, but are you catching my drift now?
The very first week into my 30 Days challenge I lost 6 lbs. I dieted and exercised for 5 MONTHS leading up to my wedding last year and only lost 5 lbs. So, right then and there, I was hooked. I continued on my 30 Days challenge, and finished up by losing 10 lbs and 2 1/2 inches from my waist. I am now a little over two months out from finishing my challenge, and I have lost 14 lbs total. However, the real victory is in the inches I have lost….. 6 INCHES just from my waist!! I didn’t even realize I had 6 inches to lose… can you say bloating??
Arbonne’s 30 Days to Healthy Living and Beyond program is ridiculously practical. I didn’t count calories or cut carbs. I actually didn’t count anything at all.. except the number of Energy Fizz Sticks I had every day! A day on the program consists of a protein shake for breakfast and lunch using Arbonne’s Fiber Boost, Digestion Plus, and Vegan Protein (formulated without whey, YOU’RE WELCOME!) Check out this video on where whey comes from! https://youtu.be/RyVJ0zJPkxM Then, throughout the day I would drink my Energy Fizz Sticks and Detox Tea. I cut out all foods that are allergenic, acidic, and that cause negative reactions in your body such as gluten, dairy, soy, and artificial flavors/colors/sweeteners. Cooking dinner was always easy because they gave me recipes that were cleanse approved. Here is one of my favorites, Lime Chipotle Shrimp: husband approved.
I absolutely love that this program has given me my life back. I don’t cringe at the thought of lake season coming up. I don’t buy shirts 2 sizes too big to cover my tummy. I don’t discretely unbutton my pants every time I sit down. I don’t dread waking up every morning. I’m not constantly comparing myself and my size to the other women in the room. I’m not scared to let my husband literally sweep me off my feet anymore… Please know that I am not a vain person, but all of these things mean so much more to me than simply the way I look. It saddens me that I ever held back from the joyfully child-like relationship my husband and I have always had. It saddens me that I ever cared more about how I compared to the other women in the room than I did about the conversations that were being had. It saddens me that I was so ashamed of my body, and that I missed out on so much because of how consumed I was with it. That is NOT who I am, and I wholeheartedly believe that Satan used my insecurity about my body to hold me back from what God had in store for my life. That definitely saddens me the most. My life before was not only unhealthy, it was limited. I didn’t allow God to give me an abundant life because I was too stuck in my unhealthy state of mind to see anything better.
Like I said before, I think God created everybody uniquely, and that your “healthy” doesn’t necessarily look the same as my “healthy”. I am all for accepting the body God gave you, and not trying to change yourself. However, if your unhealthy lifestyle limits the way you live your life, then there is a problem. God calls us to live life abundantly, and for me, that meant changing my health.
Some of you who know me might see me as the crazy Arbonne lady, but I can’t help that I am so passionate about it because it has transformed my life in a multitude of ways. I see it as an incredibly selfish act to NOT share that blessing with other people. I’m not in the business of caring what other people think anymore. I’m in the business of blessing people’s lives. It is important for those of you reading this to know that results from Arbonne’s 30 Days to Healthy Living program will vary. Everybody’s body is different. People who I have coached through this program typically lose 10-15 lbs, and leave with the education to continue on a healthy lifestyle for the rest of their lives. This program is 100% worth it. If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, you might consider chatting with me about doing this program yourself. I would love to help you live your life as abundantly as possible.
